About Kat

How I went from a full-time teacher working with hundreds of teens to a Learning Success Coach giving students and adults the individual support they need.

Hi. My name is Kat and my mission is to empower teens and adults to achieve their goals without stress and with a positive mindset.

I am a mother of two very different children who struggled in their teens for different reasons. I know first-hand how helpless parents feel when our children are not well emotionally because of the challenges they are facing at school and in life.

I am also a certified Spanish, French, and English teacher with over 27 years of experience teaching in Middle School, High School, College and Adult Education mostly in the U. S. and France. I thouroughly enjoyed teaching and building lasting relationships with my students. The classroom was my happy place because I enjoyed making my classroom a safe space where students could come anytime, and feel heard and valued. I knew that the only way I could teach my students anything was if they wanted to be there!

But I was always bothered by the few students who fell through the cracks because I was not able to reach them. It is not easy for teachers to reach all of their students when they have around 30 students in each class or about 125 students per semester. It became almost impossible to differentiate for all the special needs of the students, communicate with parents, and tend to my administrative duties. It was overwhelming and I felt I was getting further away from my true objective: the kids.

So I decided to go back to what was important to me: the well being and proper instruction of my students.
How I started coaching adults...
I first started coaching adults in Spanish and Cultural Communication when I was training police officers in Denver.  I learned that I could connect and make a difference in helping them reach their linguistic and personal goals. During my time in France, I coached adults in English and in their work environments. A few of them were expats going to the U. S. and I enjoyed preparing them for their move, coaching them in English, and helping them while they got established. I've enjoyed seeing their progress and keeping in touch with them still today.

I am experienced in improving adults' language skills and guiding adults through life transitions and the expat experience. I strive to empower individuals to thrive in any environment, and navigate life's twists and turns. I help them in crafting fulfilling lives and embracing new cultures.

With years of experience and a commitment to personal growth, I am passionate about helping others achieve their goals and unleash their full potential.
